The cardboard chair

The cardboard chair project is a classic trope of undergraduate industrial design. In its better forms, the cardboard chair project is heavy on constraints: it must support 100kgs; it must not use glue or tape or fasteners. In most forms, the cardboard chair project serves as an introduction working with, and within, to the competing interests of aesthetics and ergonomics.

But in some ways, the cardboard chair project is too familiar, too google-able.

What can take the place of the cardboard chair? I’ve got one idea…
