Intuitive Navigation for Future Hospitals

On Friday I’ll be presenting with some colleagues at QUT’s Institute for Health and Biomedical Innovation Friday Quest seminar. The topic is “Creative Health: Hospitals of the Future” (pdf flyer).

The idea of the Friday Quest series is to show how researchers from the Creative Industries and Health can work together on problems of common interest.

My short presentation draws on some things that my colleagues and I have learnt about how people navigate in Airports and draws on research done by my PhD researcher Andrew Cave.

The purpose isn’t to solve navigation in hospitals (especially in a 5 minute presentation!). Instead, I’m going to argue that the expertise we’ve developed through our airport research can be used to add to what’s known about how people move through hospitals.
